MADHYA PRADESH VIDYUT SUDHAR ADHINIYAM

This act received the assent of the President on the 12th February, 2001; assent first published in the "Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extra-Ordinary)" dated 20th February, 2001.

An Act for the purpose of-

1. establishing State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
2. restructuring of the Electricity Industry.
3. rationalization of Generation, Transmission, Sub- Transmission, Distribution and Supply of Electricity in the State.
4. regulating the licensing of transmission and supply of electricity.
5. regulating the purchase, Transmission, Sub-Transmission, Distribution, Supply and utilization of electricity.
6. Providing quality of service and the tariff and other charges considering the interest of the consumers and utilities.
7. Taking measures conductive to the development and management of the electricity industry in the state in an efficient, economic and competitive manner.

And for matters connected therewith and or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by the Madhya Pradesh legislature in the Fifty first year of the Republic of India as follows:-
