Sale of Surplus Power

General

i) The consent holder shall be entitled to use the electricity generated for his own use in accordance with the conditions contained herein or in the consent order and he shall not be entitled to sell or supply, directly or indirectly electricity to any other person. 

ii) In case the generating capacity is in excess of the owner’s requirement, the surplus energy may be sold to the Utility with the consent and approval of the Commission. For this purpose, the captive power plant should have eligibility to run in parallel with Utility’s system.

iii) The power purchased by Utility from captive power plants shall be on such rates not exceeding average cost of generation of Utility.  The rates and terms and conditions for sale of excess power of the CPP owner to the Utility shall be subject to the approval by the Commission.

iv) The cost of laying transmission lines from CPP to the Utility's sub-station and related equipment shall be borne by CPP owner. 

v) For sale of surplus power to Utility, the CPP owner shall make his own arrangement for metering, interfacing and synchronizing with the grid including providing protections etc. as per specifications of Utility.
