Awareness Campaign on Energy
Conservation 2007
Through
“INTER SCHOOL LEVEL PAINTING
COMPETITION FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN”
&
A group discussion on the provisions
of “The Energy Conservation Act’2001”in the meeting hall of the MPERC,
Bhopal”
MPERC had launched the Awareness
Campaign on Energy Conservation 2007 in order to promote energy
conservation in the State. Painting Competition for students at the
Inter School level has been included as one of the activities of the
Campaign, which had not only made aware the children about the need of
conserving energy but at the same time educated and involve their
parents as well in the above cause. The identified activity is one of
the measures, which can help in creating awareness in the domestic
sector. The salient features of the scheme were as follows:
1. Students can pick only one of
the following theme topics.
Ø
Save electricity and make one
more home energized.
Ø
Save one unit a day, keep
power cut away
Ø
When it is bright, switch off
the light.

A Committee/jury comprising
of renowned persons in Art, Drawing Teachers and Officials from
Organizers will be constituted by the MPERC for selecting up to 3 best
paintings out of the total numbers of the paintings under 3 categories
as given below:
Category – I :
Class I to II
Category – II :
Class III to V
Category – III :
Class VI to VIII
3.
For painting Paper, Pencil,
Colour Pencil had been provided by MPERC.
4.
The finishing painting is the
property of MPERC and shall be displayed in the Office.
5.
The Prize in the form of Book
Purchase Voucher shall be given to the Winners in each categories as
follows for which School authorities shall be informed and Prize shall
be given at a function organized in the Commission.

Colored printed posters
(indicating ways and means of energy conservation) were distributed
among the teachers of the various institutions participated in the
painting competition for displaying the same in their schools
Ø
In second half of the day,
a workshop on the provisions of “The Energy Conservation Act’2001 and
the Standard and labeling programme launched by the “Bureau of Energy
Efficiency” was organized wherein senior eminent persons and members of
the “Association of Industries, Mandideep” took active part.
